We set off under sunny skies and without wind.
Right away, we encounter guanacos and flocks of sheep on the road.
After a while, more guanacos appear, with the Paine mountains as a breathtaking backdrop. I even have a close call with a guanaco on the road.
Unfortunately, the main road is closed, forcing us to take a detour that increases the elevation gain to over 1,000 meters.
We eventually descend to the Hostería Pehoé and finally arrive at Rio Serrano around 5 PM.
There are no restaurants or shops in the area, but luckily, our cabin has a kitchen.
Gigi takes charge and cooks pasta for everyone.
