A LONG STAGE: 100 KM (HALF OF IT UNPAVED)

January 04, 2025

We set off under sunny skies and without wind.

Right away, we encounter guanacos and flocks of sheep on the road.
After a while, more guanacos appear, with the Paine mountains as a breathtaking backdrop. I even have a close call with a guanaco on the road.

Unfortunately, the main road is closed, forcing us to take a detour that increases the elevation gain to over 1,000 meters.
We eventually descend to the Hostería Pehoé and finally arrive at Rio Serrano around 5 PM.

There are no restaurants or shops in the area, but luckily, our cabin has a kitchen.
Gigi takes charge and cooks pasta for everyone.
