Even here in Argentina, weather forecasts aren’t always reliable! A day of constant clouds was predicted, but instead, we were met with beautiful weather.
The morning was spent on the usual errands (grocery shopping, bike maintenance, etc.). In the afternoon, however, four of us took the opportunity to go rafting—a wonderful and thrilling experience. The route was 17 km long through a spectacular canyon with many rapids.
Right from the start, we were treated to dreamy panoramas of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, along with their glaciers, all clearly visible. A big shoutout to Lolito, our guide, who explained exactly what to do, even in case of potential issues along the way.
Calm stretches of navigation alternated with challenging yet exhilarating rapids. On our return to El Chaltén, we even spotted a condor—a bird of prey rarely seen elsewhere, with a wingspan that can reach up to 3 meters.
In short, it’s clear that there’s no shortage of activities here, and boredom is something we simply don’t know!
After dinner, we had our usual planning briefing for the days ahead.
