Buoyed by the tailwind that carried them along yesterday, today our heroes set off from the “Grand Hotel” (?) in Río Grande. Initially, they faced crosswinds, but these soon shifted in the right direction.
After following the Atlantic Ocean coastline for a few kilometers, they entered a more mountainous environment. Gone were the barren pampas, replaced by alpine-like landscapes, complete with a mountain lake.
They stopped for lunch in Tolhuin, served by a waiter whose hands weren’t exactly pristine.
By early afternoon, they arrived at the Hostería Kaiken on Lake Fagnano. The hostería is, in fact, a rather cozy hotel.
Nothing else to report, apart from growing concerns about worsening winds that might pose a serious challenge for tomorrow.
