TOWARDS THE VENTISQUERO COLGANTE GLACIER

November 26, 2024

Today we set off by bike from Puyuhuapi, once again in the rain, heading toward the viewpoint of the Ventisquero Colgante Glacier.

After 28 km, we reached the trails leading to the viewpoint. The 3.3 km path, a natural trail surrounded by waterfalls and small streams, was amazing. Once at the viewpoint, we admired the glacier’s face and the waterfalls fed by melting snow.
The trail was quite challenging, with sections that required navigating tree roots and crossing a long suspension bridge.

After a quick lunch, we got back on our bikes and rode 68 km, much of it on ripio (a Chilean dirt road with stones).

We spent the night immersed in nature at a lodge called “El Cason del Bosque.”
