We are in Argentina, and much has changed.
The landscape has changed—no more mountains, waterfalls, streams, forests, or gravel roads climbing up and down. Instead, there is the vast, arid pampa and endless skies.
The climate has changed—in Chile, it was cool, sometimes cold, often cloudy with frequent light rains. Now it’s hot, especially here in Gobernador Gregores, where daytime temperatures exceed 30 degrees.
The people have also changed. They are still very kind, helpful, and friendly here, but we need to be more cautious. Perhaps it’s the severe economic crisis affecting Argentina, but there are “extra” costs in every payment transaction.
Today was spent solving technical problems with one of the bikes, though they are not yet completely resolved as we write this. Some of us took the opportunity for a jog along the stream running through the town.
Anyway, tomorrow, we depart.
